Actors needed for Short Film

Concordia 3rd year communications department production seeks actors to feature in a short student film. Auditions will be held towards the end of January TBA, but the shooting schedule is fixed from February 11 to 15. Unfortunately, as this is a student production, no financial remuneration can be provided, though we promise a DVD copy of the finished work for your portfolio (and great food on set).

We are looking for four actors: Graham (male 20-30), Carol (female 40-60), John (male 40-60), Lina (female 20-35).

If you’re interested in any of these parts, please send us an email and we’d love to set up an audition. >>>> gigs-hs43a-1536179974@craigslist.org

Synopsis

It is a character study which follows, Graham, a young autistic man. Still living with his parents, he is not entirely independent and has difficulty interacting with the world around him. Graham however, has a unique talent which he uses to communicate: Photography. We follow him for a day, witnessing life through his lens.

Graham – Male 20 – 30. Innocent looking. Graham is quiet, reserved and rarely smiles. He has a mild, undetermined branch of autism and as such can seem non communicative. We are looking for an understated performance.

Carol – Female 40 – 60. Exhausted. Carol is the parent of a special needs child. She loves her son dearly, but tends to be over controlling. Her husband deals with things very differently which leaves Carol feeling bogged down and responsible for everything.

John – Male 40 – 60. No nonsense. John loves his son but in a more ‘hands off’ manner than his wife. He feels no need to fuss over details, and generally finds her neuroses exasperating. John is quiet and views himself as the overseer.

Lina – Female 20 – 35. Empathetic. Lina is a barista at a local coffee shop. She knows Graham as a customer and has noticed his special needs. Aware of his idiosyncrasies, she tries to gently facilitate his independence.
